A Float Tank is known by several names, sensory deprivation float tank, an isolation chamber, float pod, or floatation tank. A float tank is a light and sound free chamber containing 12 inches of solution maintained at skin temperature (around 94-95˚) and 1000 lbs of dissolved Sulfate Magnesium (Epsom Salt). Yes. Showering before your float eliminates any contaminates that you would bring into the tank. Showering after your float is also suggested to remove the layer of Epsom salt that is left in the hair and on the skin SHOULD I EAT BEFORE FLOATING?
It is recommended to eat a light meal 2 hours before your float. You do not want to be starving but you dont want to be too full. Absolutely nothing! Anything other than your birthday suit will infer with your experience while floating. WHAT IF I AM CLAUSTROPHOBIC?
The thought of being enclosed in a dark space can be frightening to some. However, since there is no light in the tank, you can not see the walls therefore eliminating the feeling of being confined or restricted. The tank itself can seem unlimited and vast. You are in complete control of the environment and have the ability to exit the tank at any time. HOW WILL I FLOAT? WHAT IF I AM NOT CAPABLE OF FLOATING?
There is over 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt dissolved in the water inside the tank. Regardless of your height or weight, you will be able to float effortlessly. As you lay back, the water will settle on the side of you temple, submerging your ears but leaving your eyes, mouth, and nose completely exposed to the air. WHAT IF I FALL ASLEEP IN THE TANK?
A lot of people fall asleep inside the tank as a result of being completely and totally relaxed. It might be the best nap you ever have! CAN TWO PEOPLE FLOAT IN ONE TANK AT THE SAME TIME?
